Market Research Outlook

MRO Tracker · Food, Beverage & Nutrition · Analyst summary

India's food and beverage makers are building close to new markets rather than at home. Coca-Cola bottlers have opened or cleared plants in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Reliance has started beverage lines at Kurnool, and PepsiCo opened its first snack plant in Assam. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together host 9 of the 27 projects.

Dairy money is going into curd, yoghurt and cheese rather than liquid milk. Two Amul projects in West Bengal and Telangana plan about 1,200 tonnes of curd a day, Milky Mist has raised yoghurt capacity sevenfold at Perundurai, and Parag Milk Foods is doubling cheese output to 120 tonnes a day. 14 of the 27 projects are already producing.
