Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly scale up biofuels and circular economy initiatives, with a particular focus on Compressed Biogas (CBG).

The partnership will cover feedstock assessment, supply chain development, biomass and waste resource management, and the use of by products such as Fermented Organic Manure (FOM), Digestate, Bio CO and Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS). Both organisations will also work on technology assessment, pilot and demonstration projects, market development, and capacity building.

As part of the collaboration, BPCL and CSE will explore sustainable value chains and assess the carbon credit potential linked to bioenergy projects. Individual initiatives will move forward through separate agreements covering scope, responsibilities and implementation, to be finalised by both parties.
