EU-India Matchmaking Event 2026 connects clusters and SMEs in renewable energy and storage

The European Commission is hosting the EU-India Matchmaking Event 2026 from 21 to 23 October in New Delhi and Greater Noida, alongside the Renewable Energy India Expo 2026 (22 to 24 October). The event is organised through the European Cluster Collaboration Platform with the Federation of European Business in India and the Enterprise Europe Network. It brings together cluster organisations and SMEs from the EU, from non-EU countries in the Single Market Programme, and from India, with B2Match used to book meetings. The B2Match event page lists 116 registered participants.

The focus areas are clean technologies, renewable energy and storage, equipment manufacturing for renewables, smart grid and energy infrastructure, and green finance. The programme opens on 21 October in New Delhi with a knowledge exchange seminar and pitching and matchmaking meetings. On 22 October, selected delegates pitch at the Expo in Greater Noida and take curated stand visits, and site visits follow on 23 October. The aim is cluster to cluster, cluster to business and business to business partnerships, along with research and innovation links between industry and academia.

Market Research Outlook: European suppliers are looking at India as storage tenders, grid upgrades and domestic manufacturing targets expand demand for equipment, controls and integration services. Matchmaking formats like this mostly produce early partnerships, distribution agreements and pilot projects rather than large orders. Their value for Indian buyers lies in access to grid, storage and power electronics technology that can be localised. Results will depend on how quickly partners can meet local content rules, tender qualification requirements and price expectations in Indian procurement.
