German energy drink brand 28 BLACK is widening its availability in India through new retail and quick commerce tie-ups, as its India distributor moves to scale nationwide presence.
The brand is now stocked through 7-Eleven outlets and delivery platforms Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, building on its earlier launch on Blinkit and the debut of its own online store, 28black.in, earlier this year.
Daniel Geuther, CEO of Yinbev Beverages India Pvt. Ltd., the brand’s exclusive India importer and distributor, said the retail and quick commerce partnerships align with how consumers actually use the product — as an on-the-go pick-me-up grabbed in-store or ordered for fast delivery. He tied the expansion to the brand’s global positioning around extending the hours in a person’s day for work, fitness, and leisure.
Yinbev said it will continue building out 28 BLACK’s retail, e-commerce and distribution footprint in India, and plans to participate in industry events including Anuga Select India and the India Food Forum to connect with retailers and distributors amid rising demand for functional and lifestyle-oriented beverages.
28 BLACK is sold in 27 countries and positions itself in the premium segment on the strength of its flavour range and packaging design. Yinbev Beverages India Pvt. Ltd. is a Mumbai-based company focused on bringing premium international beverage brands to the Indian market.
Market Research Outlook: The move reflects a broader pattern in India’s energy drink category, where international brands are prioritizing quick commerce and metro-first rollouts over slow, traditional retail expansion. As urban consumers increasingly expect on-demand delivery, distribution speed is becoming as important as brand positioning for premium beverage players entering India.
