Samsung and Google Showcase AI-Powered Intelligent Eyewear, Partner With Gentle Monster and Warby Parker

Samsung Electronics and Google unveiled a first look at their new intelligent eyewear at Google I/O 2026, introducing two premium styles developed in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Designed as a companion device to smartphones, the eyewear combines AI capabilities with hands-free usability and fashion-focused design.

The launch marks Samsung’s latest move to expand AI-driven device experiences beyond traditional mobile hardware. The first collection of intelligent eyewear is scheduled to launch this fall in select markets, with further details expected in the coming months.

AI Meets Everyday Wearability

Developed jointly by Samsung, Google and eyewear partners Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the intelligent eyewear is built to provide real-time assistance while integrating naturally into daily life.

The device allows users to access navigation support through voice interaction with Gemini, receive suggestions such as nearby coffee shops along walking routes, place pickup orders, manage notifications and calendar events, and use translation tools capable of matching a speaker’s voice. Users can also translate text appearing on menus or signs within their field of vision.

Working within Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem, the device also supports everyday productivity features and enables users to capture photos without removing their smartphones.

The two eyewear styles reflect the design philosophies of both partners. Gentle Monster brings its disruptive yet refined visual identity, while Warby Parker contributes timeless and minimalist styling.

“This intelligent eyewear marks an important step in Samsung’s vision for AI,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this new AI form factor, we are further expanding the Galaxy device ecosystem, where each device is optimized to deliver unique AI experiences that best fit each form.”

“Intelligent eyewear represents a powerful step forward in our shared vision with Samsung to make AI more helpful and accessible in everyday life,” said Shahram Izadi, Vice President and GM of Android XR at Google. “Combining the best of Google’s AI and the Android ecosystem together with Samsung’s leadership in mobile hardware and Gentle Monster and Warby Parker’s premium design, we are helping users stay connected and fashionable in a more natural, hands-free way.”

Fashion and Technology Converge

“Intelligent eyewear should feel as emotionally expressive as it is technologically advanced,” said Hankook Kim, Founder and CEO of Gentle Monster. “Our vision was to merge fashion and technology in a way that feels bold, beautiful and human, bringing Gentle Monster’s disruptive design identity into a new era of intelligent eyewear with Samsung and Google.”

“Eyewear is deeply personal, which is why every detail matters when integrating advanced technology into frames people wear every day,” said Dave Gilboa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Warby Parker. “Our Intelligent Eyewear is designed to feel intuitive, combining Warby Parker’s signature design with precision optics and exceptional comfort to help people stay focused on the moments in front of them.”

Market Research Outlook Analysis

The announcement signals growing momentum in AI-enabled wearable technology, where companies are moving beyond smartphones into connected, context-aware devices.
