Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the One UI 9 beta program for Galaxy S26 series users, introducing a new set of AI-powered personalization, accessibility and security features built on Android 17.
The beta program begins rolling out this week across select markets including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the U.K. and the U.S. Eligible Galaxy S26 users can apply through the Samsung Members app.
Samsung said the full One UI 9 experience will debut later this year with upcoming Galaxy flagship devices and will include more advanced AI capabilities designed to simplify mobile interaction.
Focus on Personalisation and Creativity
One UI 9 beta introduces updates across productivity and creative tools. Samsung Notes now includes decorative tapes and expanded pen line styles, aimed at improving creative expression within the app.
The Contacts application has also been updated with direct access to Creative Studio, allowing users to create personalised profile cards without switching between applications. Samsung noted that Creative Studio requires installation of the app, a Samsung Account login and network connectivity, while availability may vary by market and device model.
The Quick Panel interface has also been redesigned, offering users more control over layout customization. Brightness, sound and media controls can now be adjusted independently, alongside additional sizing options.
Accessibility and Security Enhancements
Samsung has expanded accessibility features within One UI 9 beta. The update introduces adjustable Mouse Key speed for smoother cursor movement and combines TalkBack functions previously split between Google and Samsung services.
A new Text Spotlight feature has also been added, enabling selected text to appear enlarged or more visible within a floating window to improve readability.
Security remains a central focus of the update. One UI 9 introduces enhanced protection measures against suspicious applications and potential threats. When high-risk apps are detected, the system can warn users, block installation or execution and recommend deletion through updated security policies.
Samsung stated that these security policy updates are designed to improve device protection and may include revised assessments of potentially high-risk applications.
