India AI Data Center Infrastructure Readiness Market Growing at CAGR 19.6% to Reach USD 14,912 Million by 2032

India’s AI data center infrastructure readiness market is going through a structural reset, moving away from conventional enterprise and colocation halls built for 7 kW racks toward GPU-ready campuses that need high-density power, liquid cooling, water management and on-site energy, supported by the IndiaAI Mission, hyperscaler capital commitments and data localisation rules.

According to Market Research Outlook’s latest research report, the “India AI Data Center Infrastructure Readiness Market“ is expected to grow from USD 4,260 million in 2025 to USD 14,912 million by 2032, at a CAGR of 19.6%, supported by sovereign AI compute build-out under the IndiaAI Mission, rising rack power densities from GPU clusters, the Budget 2026-27 tax holiday for foreign cloud providers using Indian data centers, and expanding state data center policies.

India’s AI data center build cycle is moving into a new phase, with spending shifting away from general-purpose server halls toward purpose-built AI capacity where power distribution, thermal design, water supply and grid access are planned together from day one.

What is changing is not just the scale, but the nature of demand. Hyperscalers, GPU cloud providers, banks, telecom operators and government agencies now judge a site by how many megawatts it can energise, how much heat each rack can reject and how reliably it can source water and renewable power.

This shift is being reinforced by a capacity base that crossed 1,500 MW in 2025, more than 38,000 GPUs onboarded on the IndiaAI compute portal, Google’s USD 15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam and fresh multi-billion dollar plans from Microsoft and Amazon. As a result, AI readiness is now treated as a distinct infrastructure category rather than an add-on to conventional data center fit-out.

The growth of India’s AI data center infrastructure readiness market is closely linked to the rapid rise in installed capacity, which grew from 375 MW in 2020 to more than 1,500 MW in 2025 according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, with Mumbai and Navi Mumbai alone hosting 790 MW. Equipment suppliers such as Schneider Electric, Vertiv, ABB, Siemens, Hitachi Energy and Eaton are scaling local manufacturing of UPS systems, switchgear, transformers and busways, while developers including Yotta, CtrlS, NTT, STT GDC India, AdaniConneX and Nxtra are adding AI-ready halls across Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Noida.

At the same time, state governments across Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are offering land, power and stamp duty incentives, supported by the IndiaAI Mission outlay of INR 10,372 crore, RBI payment data localisation rules and the Digital Personal Data Protection framework, creating steady upstream demand for high-density power, liquid cooling, water treatment and microgrid equipment across the market.

Product development is increasingly focused on higher-performance infrastructure, including direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops and coolant distribution units for racks above 100 kW, rear-door heat exchangers for retrofit halls, lithium-ion UPS and battery storage systems, prefabricated power skids, and digital twin based monitoring software. As a result, demand is gradually shifting toward integrated power and cooling packages that are delivered as pre-tested modules, supporting higher value realisation per megawatt of AI capacity. Buyers are also asking for longer service contracts, spare parts held in India and remote monitoring support across multi-site portfolios.

Despite this strong momentum, India’s AI data center infrastructure readiness market continues to face challenges. Grid interconnection delays and limited round-the-clock renewable power, water stress and high ambient temperatures in key clusters, and heavy import dependence for liquid cooling and high-voltage electrical equipment remain key concerns. Long lead times for transformers and GPU-grade cooling hardware add further cost and schedule pressure. However, green energy open access reforms, closed-loop cooling designs and growing local equipment manufacturing are gradually easing these pressures over time.

Looking ahead, opportunities are emerging across retrofitting legacy colocation halls for GPU loads, sovereign and government AI compute clusters, edge inference sites in tier-2 cities, and domestic production of cooling and power equipment. Increasing collaboration between hyperscalers, Indian developers, equipment majors, EPC contractors and renewable power producers is also accelerating design standardisation, delivery speed and cost control, positioning the market for sustained, value-driven and inclusive growth through 2032.
